Haven From Hunger

Skipping dinner. Eating less! Giving up food in order to pay rent. This is what thousands of people in Peabody and Salem face every day.The Haven from Hunger is the critical link between food and people. We provide food to nearly 200 people a week.Hunger impacts people in all walks of life. We reach them all – from working families to senior citizens. Important guidelines

  • If you've been charged with a violent or sexual offence or with identity theft, we will not be able to accommodate you in our volunteer program.
  • Please only register for shifts that you will attend. If you miss more than three food repack shifts or one warehouse shift, you will no longer be able to participate in the program.
  • Please confirm your hours, it's your responsibility. Be sure to sign in at the beginning of each shift and to collect a verification form at the end of each shift.
  • It's your responsibility to let us know once you have completed your mandated hours.
  • Shifts may end early if we run out of food; however we are only able to provide credit for actual hours worked.
  • Please begin by registering for four shifts only. After you establish a good attendance record, you are free to sign up for additional shifts.
